About Dr Madhu Gopalakrishnan

Dr Madhu Gopalakrishnan is a consulting cardiologist. His work covers cardiac imaging, preventive cardiology, general cardiology and stress testing.

Dr Gopalakrishnan trained in India, where he completed his MBBS, basic physician training (MD in medicine) and subspecialty training in cardiology (DM in cardiology). During his cardiology training he presented a paper at the 2013 national conference of the Cardiological Society of India.

He moved to Bahrain in 2014 and then to Dubai in 2015, where he worked as a specialist cardiologist for two and a half years, looking after both inpatients and outpatients.

In 2017 Dr Gopalakrishnan came to Australia and joined the Alfred Hospital in Melbourne for an honorary fellowship in cardiac imaging. He then worked as an interventional cardiology fellow at Mulgrave Private Hospital and Bankstown Public Hospital, and became a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP) in 2018.
